Met Eireann update weather warnings for Ireland as one area to be worst hit by horrid conditions

Met Eireann's weather warnings for the entire country have been updated with some areas to be effected slightly worse than the rest.

Weather chiefs initially issued one warning for all 26 counties in the Republic but have since changed that.

The country is split between two yellow rain warnings while a status yellow wind warning also comes into effect on Tuesday morning.

The two rainfall warnings are already in place but will last varying amounts of time.

Leinster is under a status yellow rain warning until 3pm on Tuesday with up to 30mm of rain forecast.

All of Munster and Connacht as well as Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal are under yellow rain warning as well until 3pm on Tuesday - although up to 50mm is expected in these parts.

A new status yellow wind warning has been issued for Wexford, Cork, Kerry and Waterford from 5am on Tuesday until 3pm.

The forecaster said: "Becoming very windy on Tuesday. Southeast winds, veering southwest will reach mean speeds of 50-65km/h, gusting up to 100km/h. Exceptionally high tides combined with strong onshore winds gives an elevated risk of coastal flooding."
