Met Eireann has pinpointed when the 'Beast From The East 2.0' will hit Ireland worst as the weather event is set to hit in the coming days.
From Sunday right through Tuesday, there will be severe wintry showers and even outbreaks of snow in some areas at times.
The National Forecaster say that it will start at the weekend but that it will be "bitterly cold and wintry" right into next week.
Looking at today, there will be a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers and a cold day throughout at 6C.
That will drop to around 3C overnight and will remain mostly cloudy with showery rain.
Looking more at 'The Beast', the dangerous weather conditions will hit the country over the weekend and could last for several days as temperatures plummet below zero also.
The weather phenomenon bringing the wintry weather is a sudden stratospheric warming event which occurred in the Arctic recently.
And this is the same event that sprung 'The Beast From The East' on the country this time last year which brought Ireland's heaviest snow in three decades.
The SSW causes the jet stream to divert and head in the direction of Ireland as it brings cold easterly winds across Europe.
Here's how the weekend is looking according to Met Eireann:
Saturday: "Tomorrow, there will be scattered showers but some bright or sunny intervals too. It will be another cold day with highest afternoon temperatures of 5 or 6 degrees, in moderate north to northeast winds. Isolated showers near coasts, otherwise mostly dry under broken cloud. Some frost and possible ice with lowest temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees, in moderate easterly winds."
Sunday: "Colder again on Sunday with highest temperatures of just 2 to 5 degrees, in a moderate to fresh easterly wind. Most areas will, however, stay fully dry albeit cloudy, but isolated showers may occur in the east and southwest, turning wintry on high ground. Very cold with a widespread frost and ice. Scattered wintry showers will move into the east and southwest with a dusting of snow possible. Lowest temperatures of -3 to +1 degrees in moderate easterly winds."
