Dublin weather forecast as Met Eireann says there's rain on the way before pleasant Bank Holiday weekend with 'anticyclonic conditions' bringing the sunshine

We're close to the Bank Holiday weekend, and there's good news on the horizon for Dublin.

While Wednesday is bringing some rain in the evening hours, there's a change on the way and it's a positive one.

Night time will be a bit chillier, with temperatures dropping to around 3C.

And we can expect some mist or fog, but it shouldn't be too difficult.

Met Eireann says: "It will be cloudy with some outbreaks of rain this evening. Light to moderate south to southwest winds will become variable later this evening.

Rain will clear tonight and some clear spells will develop, although there will be a risk of some patches of mist or fog forming. Minimum temperatures of 3 or 4 degrees, in light westerly breezes."

Thursday will bring some more rain, but by Friday the change will come.

The high pressure will settle across Ireland as the anticyclonic conditions take hold.

While temperatures will only reach 13C, there will be little to no wind so it'll feel warmer.

Met Eireann says: "The bank holiday weekend looks like staying dry throughout as anticyclonic conditions prevail.

"Temperatures will be a little lower than usual for the time of year but will recover to near normal by the end of the weekend.

"There will, however, be little or no wind and plenty of sunshine so will feel pleasant despite the slightly lower temperatures - typically between 9 and 12 or 13 degrees from north to south.

"The winds, light northerly on Saturday, becoming variable by Saturday night."
