Dublin is set to be hammered with thunderstorms today that are going to bring heavy downpours and hail.
A yellow weather warning has been issued by Met Eireann and will continue through to 9pm tonight with spot flooding expected in places.
The warning is for Leinster, including Dublin, as well as all of Connacht and Munster and reads: "Scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, bringing some heavy downpours with a risk of hail and localised spot flooding."
The horrible conditions will continue throughout the weekend in a total washout.
Dublin Fire Brigade warned motorists to be careful on the roads after responding to several collisions overnight including an overturned truck on the M50.
Met Eireann's forecast for today says: "Cloud and outbreaks of rain will clear northeastwards this morning, with sunshine and scattered showers following.
"The showers will become more widespread later in the afternoon and evening, with some thunderstorms likely and a risk of localised spot flooding.
"Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees in mostly moderate southeast or east winds, becoming light to moderate southwest later."
