Met Eireann’s latest long-range forecast and the chances of another stunning hot spell

Met Eireann has confirmed that the country can look forward to some more summer weather as they released their latest monthly forecast.

The national forecaster has predicted drier than average conditions for the month with some showers from time to time.

With many primary school students looking forward to their summer holidays, we have a look at what you can expect from the weather over the next four weeks.

June 21 to June 27

This week is set for mixed weather as outbreaks of rain and drizzles will be seen across the country.

The weather is expected to be wetter and cooler than normal in all areas, with both high and low pressure influencing the weather, making it quite changeable this week.

Periods of extended warm and sunny weather is likely during the middle of the week as high pressure becomes more dominant.

Rainfall is also expected during the midweek period, but this will become more settled towards the weekend with a good deal of dry weather predicted.

June 28 to July 4

The weather is set to pick up for the first week of July, with all areas expected to be drier than usual.

Temperatures will recover to bring warm July sunny spells ideal for outdoor activities.

July 5 to July 11

Met Eireann has said no dominant weather pattern is evident during this week.

However, temperatures are predicted to be near normal, and there are indications that it will remain drier than normal, with few rain showers.

July 12 to Sunday 18

Settled weather means that the relatively good weather is expected to continue into mid-July.

Perfect if you are planning a staycation this summer as rainfall will be below average, and temperatures will likely remain near normal.
