Met Eireann's Ireland weekend weather forecast as one part of country to get best of weather

Ireland looks set to see a rise in temperatures this weekend as Met Eireann predict sunny spells to spread across the country with some isolated showers.

After a week of mostly rain, people can look forward to seeing a lot more dry weather and sunshine as temperatures are expected to rise to 24 degrees this coming week.

The south will get most of the rainfall this weekend, with the west getting the best of the sunshine on Saturday and Sunday.

Here is what you can expect this weekend weather-wise:

Saturday, June 26

Tomorrow will see a mix of cloud and sunny spells as it will remain predominantly dry with just some isolated showers in the afternoon and evening.

The showers are expected to appear mainly in the east with highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees and a light to moderate northeasterly breeze.

Saturday night

The night looks set to be dry with good clear spells and lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees.

Sunday, June 27

The weather is predicted to be largely dry on Sunday, with cloud building up during the morning along with some sunny spells.

Scattered showers are expected to develop as the day goes on, with a higher chance of rain developing in southern and southeastern areas.

Temperatures will range between 16 to 20 degrees, reaching 21 degrees in the south with a light to moderate breeze.

Sunday night

Again, another dry night is expected with mostly clear skies. A few isolated showers will develop in parts with lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees.

The weather is set to become a bit more settled during the beginning of the week, with Monday and Tuesday bringing good sunny spells.

Monday, June 28

Monday will see good sunny spells and mainly dry weather, with just some isolated showers.

There is a chance that some heavy showers will move into the southeast during the day. However, temperatures are set to range from 18 to 23 degrees.

Tuesday, June 29

Tuesday will again bring some sunny and dry weather with just an odd stray shower possible along the northern coast.

Temperatures will range between 20 to 24 degrees, making Tuesday one of the hottest days so far this year.
