Met Eireann's Ireland weather forecast for the next 30 days with heatwave latest and warning about unpleasant change

Met Eireann are forecasting the stunning weather to last for another week or so before an unwelcome change arrives.

Weather experts are predicting temperatures in the twenties until the middle of next week at least with a stunning weekend in store.

But Met Eireann's long-range forecast suggests that wind and rain could return in the second week of September.

Here's the national forecaster's latest long-range forecast;

Met Eireann's 30-day forecast

Week 1 (Monday 30 August to Sunday 05 September)

High pressure will continue to dominate the weather pattern next week with well below average rainfall expected. Temperatures will return closer to average in the east of the country with the northeasterly airflow being maintained while temperatures will remain slightly above average in the west. Benign weather conditions should continue with an overall low hazards risk.

Week 2 (Monday 06 September to Sunday 12 September)

By week 2 high pressure will move away allowing a predominately west to southwest airflow to set up. Slightly above average rainfall and temperatures can be expected. The return of lower pressure could increase the risk of wind and rain related events for this period and warnings cannot be ruled out at this time.

Week 3 (Monday 13 September to Sunday 19 September)

With low pressure firmly in command and west to northwest flow will return temperatures to averge and maintain a slightly above average rainfall risk. The potential risk of isolated wind or rain events will continue through the period.

Week 4 (Monday 20 September to Sunday 26 September)

Week 4 carries on like week 3 with a predominantly northwesterly airflow keeping temperatures near average and slightly above average rainfall is expected. The pattern suggest that upper level wind will shift further north potentially reducing the wind and rain hazards risk as the period progresses.
