Met Eireann's Ireland forecast as UK set to be roasted by early summer temperatures

The UK is expected to have a scorching summer once roasting temperatures arrive next week.

London in particular is set to be hit with a mini-heatwave, with temperatures soaring to 18C in some places.

England as a whole is set for some mild weather, with heat fluctuating throughout the week - which is good news for those who want to get out and about while lockdown measures are easing over there.

There'll be the odd early fog patch but many areas will start sunny before overhead clouds develop, especially towards the west of the UK.

A forecaster says: "Chilly starts are to be expected, but turning a little warmer by afternoon, and feeling pleasant away from some eastern coasts."

The UK is to expect some night frost during, but the weather is to improve later on in the day, with temperatures set to rise to as high as 16C to 18C.

Ireland's weather isn't set to be too far behind UK's, with our conditions fluctuating throughout the week.

Met Eireann expects us to enjoy some sunny weather, but says that there is 'uncertainty' on the way too - with outbreaks of rain likely and plummeting night temperatures expected.

A forecaster said: "There'll be some further outbreaks of rain and drizzle into the early days of the coming week, but then we'll see high pressure building from the northwest to give some dry and some sunny weather from midweek.

"There's some uncertainty in the forecast from then, but it looks like it will stay mainly dry for at least a few days, up until Friday anyway, but maybe longer.

"There's some uncertainty too as regards the position of the centre of the high, and consequently uncertainty as regards wind direction and temperatures, with the likelihood though of some frost by night.

"There's a chance that an area of low pressure may approach from the southwest on Friday, which would result in some breezy weather and some rain too, especially for parts of the southwest, but the area of high pressure may hold on, giving continued settled weather into next weekend."
