Met Eireann's five day Ireland weather forecast as scorching conditions set to end

Ireland has been experiencing a heatwave over the past week, with scorching weather in most parts of the country.

It seems like summer is well and truly on its way, as we have been blessed with the weather.

However, it seems that could all come to a quick end- as Met Eireann have forecast a change in conditions over the next five days.

Whereas it is set to be the hottest day so far today- with dry and warm weather, and highs of 24 to 26 degrees expected- the weather will start to cool from tomorrow onwards.

Monday

Monday will be bright and mainly dry, with some sunny spells. There will be a few isolated light showers in the north and northwest, with maximum temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees.

Tomorrow night will be dry in most areas with clear spells and slack winds, but cloudier in the west and southwest.

Patchy drizzle is expected on the coast, with minimum temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees.

Tuesday

The midlands, east and south will be mainly dry, with some bright or sunny spells.

It will be warm and humid, with maximum temperatures of 19 to 22 degrees.

The southwest, west and northwest will be cooler and cloudy, with patches of rain and drizzle expected, and moderate fresh winds will develop on the coast.

On Tuesday night, rain will extend from the Atlantic, but it will be patchy in the east and south.

Wednesday

Wednesday is expected to see a change in the weather with scattered showers expected in Atlantic coastal counties. There will be some sunny spells in the west, but it will be relatively cool with maximum temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees.

Thursday

Thursday will be a cool, bright day, with sunny spells and scattered showers.

Most of the showers in the western half of the country, with a height of 14 to 17 degrees, in light to moderate northwesterly breezes.

Friday

Friday is so far looking mainly dry, with sunny spells and light northerly or variable breezes expected. However, Met Eireann say this could change.

Maximum highs of 15 to 19 degrees.
