Met Eireann's exact forecast on how warm each county in Ireland will be on hottest days of the year so far

Ireland will be blessed by 29C heat as the hottest two days of the year arrive.

Met Eireann are forecasting 27C on Wednesday and 29C on Thursday - although some areas will be hotter than others.

Weather chiefs expect the west of the country to get the very best of the weather but all areas should see plenty of sun and mid-20s temperatures.

Met Eireann forecast

Wednesday

Rather cloudy this morning with a little patchy drizzle affecting northern coasts to start the day. There'll be fog in patches around the coast of the south and west.

Cloud will thin out with sunshine developing, the best in the south and spreading northwards steadily.

Highest temperatures ranging between 20 and 24 degrees widely, between 17 and 20 degrees in the cloudier north and at the coasts and as high as 27 degrees possible in isolated spots where the longest spells of sunshine develop. Winds will be light and variable in direction.

Thursday

Tomorrow, Thursday will be a warm day and locally it will feel hot. It will be dry and sunny widely and winds will be light to moderate from a southeast direction, locally fresh.

Temperatures will be 25 degrees in the afternoon widely across the country, typically reaching 20 degrees at the coasts and as high as 29 degrees is possible in the west.
