A weather station in Ireland nearly recorded a temperature of 30C on Thursday.
The station is Adfert, Co Kerry got as hot as 29.2C on what was the hottest day of 2019 so far.
Kerry was among six counties that were issued with a high-temperature warning as a brief heatwave hit the country.
Shannon Airport in Co Clare was the second hottest location, with a sizzling 28.4C recorded.
And Kerry stations Dooks and Valentia were the only other locations that registered 28C heat or higher.
According to Met Eireann, the warmest places are as follows:
- 29.2 Ardfert - Kerry
- 28.4 Shannon Airport
- 28.2 Dooks - Kerry
- 28.0 Valentia
- 27.6 Killarney
- 27.4 Ballybunnion
- 27.3 Adare Manor (Limerick)
- 27.0 Mallow (Cork)
Meanwhile, parts of the country are expected to see highs of 27C on Friday.
Most places have enjoyed a mostly warm and humid day so far, but some areas are experiencing light rain and cloudy conditions.
Some showers in Munster and Connacht may turn thundery throughout the day.
A forecaster said: "Warm and humid today with good sunshine in many areas but cloudy periods also especially in Munster and Connacht with some scattered heavy and thundery showers and the risk of localised heavy downpours.
"Remaining dull also in parts of the Southeast. Top temperatures of 22C to 27C generally but a few degrees cooler in southern coastal areas due to moderate southeasterly breezes."
Saturday will be similar, with a mix of cloud and sunshine being predicted.
Met Eireann has also warned that some thundery downpours may affect some places.
A forecaster said: "A mix of cloud and sunny spells on Saturday with some heavy or thundery showers in places.
"Another warm day with maximum temperatures ranging 20C to 26C in moderate southerly breezes."
