Met Eireann pinpoints one more snow day in forecast before Ireland's weather changes considerably

Ireland looks set to bear one more burst of snow before the weather switches to a milder climate and we prepare to head into Spring.

Wednesday will see snow showers overnight across parts of Ulster, South Leinster and Connacht according to the forecaster.

The day will start off with scattered rain across the country, although the East will have mainly dry weather and sunny spells.

Between now and then, Monday and Tuesday will continue to see blustery weather across the country, with widespread showers and a risk of hail and thunder.

There will also be a few sunny spells bringing about milder temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees.

Then, later on in the week, Thursday is set to be wet and windy with rain, which may be heavy in places.

Current forecasts indicate that this bout of bad weather will clear to the northeast during the morning with just a few scattered showers remaining.

It’ll become very windy once again overnight on Thursday as rain extends across the country with some wintry falls possible in the north and west.

Friday will be mild, wet, and windy with rain expected in all areas, however, temperatures will be slightly warmer between 10 to 13 degrees.

As the day goes on, the rain will travel up from the south, and extend northwards throughout the night as winds strengthen again on the southern and eastern coasts.

In terms of the weekend ahead, Met Eireann has predicted a continuation of milder weather with temperatures increasing to the mid-teens.

Rain is expected to be widespread on Saturday, drying up once again on Sunday, with no further snow forecast as of yet.
