Met Eireann pinpoint where the best weather will be this weekend before big change

After an uncharacteristically warm summer season, the Autumn is finally here as the conditions get colder and the night gets longer.

On that note, this weekend is very much in keeping with the changing seasons because the weather it's set to be quite mixed with 21-degree heat, sunny spells and showers all expected.

In terms of the highest temperatures expected, here are the particular areas along with when and where the mercury will be at its highest; Dublin on Sunday(21 degrees), Ulster on Sunday (21 degrees), Munster on Saturday and Sunday (21 degrees), Leinster on Saturday and Sunday (21 degrees), Connacht on Saturday and Sunday (21 degrees)

Here's what's on the horizon...

Friday morning and afternoon

Today will be largely cloudy but dry this morning, however, some sunny spells will develop through the day, the best of which will be in the northeast.

It will stay dry though with a few light passing showers will occur. Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees.

Friday night

Largely dry with some clear spells tonight and a few patches of mist and drizzle. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.

Saturday morning and afternoon

A largely dry start with sunny spells. Light showers will develop through the afternoon though. The mercury will be at its highest during this period with 17 to 21 degrees expected.

Saturday night

A dry start is expected but the but rain will develop in the southwest later in the night.

Overnight temperatures are not expected to fall below 13 or 14 degrees.

Sunday morning and afternoon

Outbreak of rain will move over the western half of the country on Sunday morning, spreading across much of the country through the afternoon.

However, parts of the south and southeast may stay dry. The highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees are expected.

Sunday night

Outbreaks of rain clearing eastwards overnight followed by isolated showers. Continuing cloudy and quite humid overnight with temperatures are not expected to fall below 15 degrees.
