Met Eireann pinpoint when Ireland set to sizzle this week with temperatures forecast to hit mid 20s

Break out the barbeques and sunscreen as the country is set to sizzle this week with the mercury hitting the mid 20s.

High pressure will dominate the skies bringing dry and mostly warm weather as rain is expected to settle.

Sunday looks set to be a very mixed day with showers in many areas, turning heavy and even thundery at times.

The national forecaster is predicting that although Monday will start off with sunshine and isolated showers in the morning, the rain is expected to increase in frequency by evening time.

There is also a risk of thunderstorms as temperatures will hit highs of 22C.

But, the good news is that conditions will start to become more settled with Thursday seeing highs of 23C before temperatures rise even further for Friday and the weekend.

Met Eireann has said that the week ahead will become gradually more settled as high pressure will dominate our skies.

It’s expected to remain mostly dry and warm with temperatures expected to reach the ‘mid-twenties’ by the end of the week.

The forecaster’s outlook is: “Gradually turning more settled through the week as high pressure comes to dominate our weather.

“It will be dry for most and warm overall, with temperatures reaching the mid-twenties towards the end of the week.”

“Current indications suggest that there will be a good deal of dry weather on Friday apart from light showers in the west,” Met Eireann stated.

“The weekend will stay largely dry with spells of sunshine. It will be warm too with temperatures widely reaching the mid-twenties.”
