With temperatures expected to hit 20 degrees in certain parts of the country this weekend, Irish citizens will be keeping a keener eye on the weather than usual.
With outdoor dining and drinking set to resume on June 7, the weather is going to be a key factor for the hospitality sector as they wait for indoor service to return in July.
However, this weekend will see the best of the sunshine on Saturday evening, Sunday morning and Monday afternoon.
In a message that was shared on social media, Met Eireann said: "Weekend Weather - Sat: Cloudy/Damp start, brightening up later but spells of rain and sun in the east and north. Best of the sunshine: Evening
"Sun: Mainly dry – chance of light rain and sunny spells in east and south. Best of the sunshine: Morning.
A good deal of dry weather is expected over the long weekend but some rain and showers will be present too.
"Bank Holiday Monday: Mostly dry – but patchy rain and cloud near Atlantic coasts. Best of the sunshine: Afternoon."
