A fresh status orange wind warning has been issued by Met Eireann for Cork and Kerry as strong gusts blast the country tonight.
The four-hour alert is valid from 8pm tonight until midnight.
It reads: "Southwest to west winds will reach mean speeds of 65 to 80km/h with damaging gusts to 120km/h for a time early tonight and some wave overtopping."
Another yellow caution remains in place for the entire country until 7am on Thursday morning.
Met Eireann had already warned that it will become very windy from Wednesday afternoon through until Thursday morning, with southwest winds reaching speeds of 90 to 110km/h generally.
These gusts are expected to be higher at times on hills and coasts in the south and west with a risk of some wave overtopping.

A status orange marine gale warning is also in effect as southwest winds are predicted to reach gale force 8 or strong gale force 9 today and tonight on all Irish coastal waters and on the Irish Sea.
This will reach storm force 10 from Wicklow Head to Roches Point to Loop Head this evening and tonight, Met Eireann has reported.
Temperatures are expected to reach a height of between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius.
Outbreaks of rain across the country will clear to showers from the west, turning heavy and increasingly blustery at times throughout the evening and night and into tomorrow morning.
Lowest temperatures are estimated in the range of three to five degrees.
Thursday night is expected to bring heavy showers with the continuing risk of hail and thunder, with fresh and gusty westerly winds.
The weather will remain consistent coming into the weekend, with a mix of sunny spells and heavy blustery showers, with the risk of hail and thunder on Friday.
The cool evening will lead into a cold night as the temperature is predicted to drop to lows of 1 or 2 degrees bringing a patchy frost.
Saturday remains much of the same with hail expected to fall with scattered showers and brisk north-westerly breezes.
Sunday morning will see a milder but still rainy day across the country, with moderate westerly breezes, before settling next Monday for the week ahead.
