Met Eireann issue Status Yellow wind warning for Dublin until Saturday morning

Met Eireann have issued a Status Yellow wind warning for Dublin which is expected to be in place until Saturday morning.

The forecaster say gusts of up to 110km/h are expected until 10am this morning.

It comes as Storm Hannah batters the country.

Met Eireann say: "Becoming very windy on Friday night and for a time on Saturday morning.

"Southerly winds will veer northwesterly and reach mean speeds of 50-65km/h with gusts of 90 to 110 km/h."

As Ireland is hit by Storm Hannah gusts of up to 150km/h, Dublin is set for a very wet and windy night

Saturday will be a cloudy and windy to start, with outbreaks of rain.

The rain will clear to the east in the morning and it will brighten up by the afternoon, with sunny spells and perhaps an isolated shower developing.

Strong and gusty, west to northwest winds will gradually moderate by evening. A rather cool day, with highest temperatures of 10 or 11 degrees.

Sunday will be a mainly cloudy and misty day with patchy light rain and drizzle.

Some limited brighter intervals are possible towards evening.

It will be a little milder than recent days, with highs of 11 to 16 degrees, coolest along the east coast. Light southeast or variable breezes.
