Met Éireann issue heavy thundery showers warning in nasty end to glorious heatwave

Met Éireann have issued an advisory for heavy thundery showers for tomorrow.

The team of meteorologists have announced that a cold front crossing the country tomorrow afternoon will cause widespread and even thundery downpours.

These showers will lead to hazardous conditions for drivers and may result in spot flooding.

Leinster and east Munster are most at risk, late Monday afternoon and tomorrow evening.

These heavy showers will continue for the next few days.

The advisory is in place from midday on Monday to 5am on Tuesday.

They said: “A cold front passing the country on Monday afternoon will bring widespread heavy and possibly thundery showers.

“Downpours will result in hazardous driving conditions and may lead to spot flooding.

“Areas most at risk are Leinster and east Munster later Monday afternoon and evening.

“Heavy showers with the thunderstorms will continue through Tuesday and Wednesday.”
