The Northern half of the country is to be hit with dense fog in the next few hours with a Met Eireann warning in place.
The status yellow weather alert has been issued for Cavan, Monaghan, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath and all the counties in Connacht.
It will begin at 10pm and last until midday on Monday.
An alert on the Met Eireann website reads: "Dense fog in many areas tonight (Sunday) and on Monday morning."
It will remain largely settled for the rest of the country in the next 24 hours with no major hazards expected.
The forecaster added: "This afternoon will bring bright or sunny spells and scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees with light to moderate south to southwest breezes.
"Showers will tend to die out overnight and it will become largely dry with patches of mist and fog forming. The fog will be dense in places, especially over the northern half of the country. Rain may develop on the south coast before dawn. Cold with lowest temperatures of 0 to 5 degrees with a touch of frost in places.
"On Monday morning, mist and fog will affect many areas and will slowly clear with some bright intervals developing. It will be mainly dry. However, some light and there'll be some light rain or drizzle at times in southern coastal counties. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees generally with light to moderate easterly breezes."
