Met Eireann Ireland weather forecast two day storm nightmare before big change

Met Eireann is forecasting two days of possible stormy weather this week before a big, drastic change this weekend.

Wednesday and Thursday will see risks of possible heavy thunderstorms alongside rain and hail and the possibility of sunny spells.

But come Saturday and Sunday, there will be a sunburst once again with the Celsius reaching 15C on both days.

Wednesday night will see temperatures plummet to -2C overnight after a washout of a day with mist and fog patches forming but remaining dry with clear spells.

Here's how the next few days are looking according to Met Eireann:

Summary: "Cool on Thursday and Friday with sunshine and showers and with frost at night. Milder over the weekend with rain on Saturday and showers on Sunday."

Tomorrow: "Thursday will continue cool with sunny spells. After a dry start, scattered showers of rain or hail will extend southwards to all of the region, some heavy and a few possibly thundery. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees with light to moderate northerly breezes."

Thursday night: "It will be mainly dry with clear spells and a few showers on northern coasts. It will be cold with frost developing. Lowest temperatures of -2 and +2 degrees.

Friday: "It will continue cool. There'll be some showers in Ulster, but many areas will be mainly dry with sunny spells. Cloud will increase in Munster in the evening. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees with mostly variable breezes. On Friday night, rain will develop in the southwest and will spread northeastwards over Munster, Connacht and south Leinster overnight along with fresh southeasterly winds. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees."

Saturday: "Rain will clear to the northeast through the afternoon with showers following. Fresh southeast winds will veer southerly as the rain clears. It will become milder with highest temperatures of 10 to 15 degrees, mildest over the southern half of the country."

Sunday: "There'll be some bright or sunny spells. However, showers will become widespread and heavy. It will be mild with highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees with fresh southerly winds."
