Met Eireann Ireland weather forecast sees persistent rain this weekend before big change

It's set to be a cloudy day with patchy drizzle in Dublin as Met Eireann forecasters predict a big change next week.

The best of any bright or sunny intervals will be during this morning. It will be cloudier this afternoon with perhaps a little patchy drizzle towards evening.

Highest temperatures of 13 or 14 degrees with light southerly breezes.

Tonight will be mild and mostly cloudy with a little patchy drizzle and mist. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees with light southerly breezes.

Sunday will be mild and largely dry with a fair amount of cloud and some bright or sunny intervals. A little patchy drizzle is possible. Highest temperatures of 14 or 15 degrees with light to moderate southerly breezes.

On Sunday night, rain in the west and northwest will gradually move southeastwards with drier weather following into west Ulster and Connacht by morning.

Lowest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees with light breezes.

Through Monday morning, rain or drizzle in east Ulster, Leinster and Munster will gradually clear southeastwards, with the mercury set to rise.

Drier weather will follow with some bright spells. But there will still be a good deal of cloud. Highest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees with mostly light variable breezes.

Monday night will be mainly dry with a fair amount of cloud and with drizzle, mist or fog in places. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees.
