Met Eireann Ireland weather forecast sees 'hazardous conditions' with yellow warning in place

Met Eireann has issued a weather warning as "hazardous conditions" will hit Ireland.

The yellow fog warning is in place until 12:00pm today.

A forecaster warned: "Fog or freezing fog will develop this evening, becoming dense in parts of Munster and Leinster overnight leading to impaired visibility and hazardous driving conditions.

"On Thursday fog will be slow to lift and may linger locally beyond the warning period."

There’ll be lingering patches of fog in Dublin today which will be slow to clear due to light southerly winds.

It will be dry with a mix of cloud and some sunny spells with highest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees.

Alan O’Reilly sent a tweet last night warning road users to be aware of the fog. He said: “Temperatures dropping tonight in many areas with frost again away from West and North.

“Fog developing also with risk of freezing fog. Allow some extra time for journeys tomorrow morning.”

Tonight will be dry with clear spells. Some fog patches may form in light winds and a touch of frost is possible too in lowest temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees.

Tomorrow, there’ll be a dull start with any fog slowly lifting to low clouds. It will be another dry day, with occasional bright periods developing. Highs of 6 to 8 degrees, with a light southeast breeze.
