Met Eireann Ireland weather forecast sees dull and damp day with frost tonight

Met Eireann have predicted a dull and damp day today with frost on the cards for tonight.

Today, Monday, 10 January, is expected to be rather cloudy and damp with outbreaks of rain or drizzle.

It will feel mild though with temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees and there will be a light breeze.

The weather is expected to be much fresher and clearer later in the evening as moderate southwest winds change westerly.

Tonight, any lingering rain and scattered cloud will clear away and temperatures are expected to drop to 0 to 3 degrees overnight allowing for a touch of frost.

Westerly winds will fall light and variable allowing for some mist or fog patches also.

Alan O’Reilly at Carlow Weather tweeted: “No flooding to worry about for the next week as high pressure moves in from Tuesday.

“Dull and damp but mild. Rainfall totals for next 7 days from two main models shown here.”

Conditions are expected to gradually become more settled in the week as a ridge of high pressure influences our weather as we move towards midweek.
