Met Eireann Ireland weather forecast: Major change set to hit Dublin on Monday

The dry weather is set to end as clouds and rain have been forecast to hit Dublin on Monday.

However, Sunday will be mostly dry and bright with sunny spells before patchy drizzle is set to take hold tonight.

The temperature will stick between 10 and 12 degrees during the day and drop to 4 or 5 degrees at night.

The Met Eireann forecast read: "Dry and bright in most areas today with sunny spells. Cloud will thicken in the southwest and west during the afternoon with patchy drizzle possible by evening.

"Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees with moderate northwest breezes, fresh or strong for a time along the north Ulster coast."

The forecast added: "Early tonight will be quite cool with temperatures falling to 4 or 5 degrees. Cloud will increase from the southwest later in the night with some patchy drizzle. Towards morning, more persistent rain will spread eastwards across the region."

The wet weather will then set in on Monday morning but it will remain mild.

The forecast read: "A rather wet start on Monday morning with outbreaks of rain pushing eastwards across the country. The afternoon and evening will bring good dry periods albeit with plenty of cloud and some scattered falls of rain or drizzle.

"A mild day with highest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees in moderate or fresh southerly winds, strong at times along Atlantic coasts."
