Met Eireann Ireland weather forecast heavy showers and 'blustery' wind

Ireland will see a mix of sunshine and scattered showers today.

Met Eireann's forecast said there will be a "fresh start" to Tuesday with scattered showers expected, some of which will be heavy.

"Mostly dry later though as showers become lighter and more isolated," they added.

Highest temperatures will range a seasonal 12 to 15 degrees Celsius and it will be "blustery, in a moderate to fresh and gusty northwest wind, easing later.

The forecast for tonight reads: "Largely dry and clear for a time tonight with just light variable breezes.

"Turning cloudier later, as scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle move in across the western half of the country.

"Some mist and fog later too. Chilly under clearer skies with lowest temperatures of 3 to 8 degrees Celsius."
