Met Eireann Ireland weather forecast ominous 'dominating' four-day change

Met Eireann is forecasting a four-day big change but an ominous 'dominating' event is warned.

Monday right through until Thursday will see sunny spells across Ireland with temperatures as high as 16C.

But, a band of low pressure will also hit bringing with it some dirty drizzles across the week.

Met Eireann warn: "Low pressure currently centred just off the northwest coast will dominate our weather in the days ahead, up to and including Thursday, bringing some heavy showers, which will be thundery in places by day, with a risk of spot flooding.

"There'll be some sunshine too though and with temperatures around average to just a little below."

Here's how this week is looking as temperatures hover around the mid-teens all week:

Monday: "Mostly cloudy with showers today. The showers will be heaviest and most frequent this afternoon with a risk of thundery downpours and hail. The best of the limited bright or sunny intervals will be this morning. Top temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees Celsius. with south to southwest winds increasing moderate to fresh and gusty this afternoon."

Tomorrow: "Tuesday will start out mostly sunny, but cloud will tend bubble up through the morning and afternoon, and some isolated showers will develop. The showers will become heavier and more frequent later in the evening. Highs of 13 or 14 degrees in mostly moderate, occasionally fresh southeast winds."

Wednesday: "The centre of the area of low pressure will move in over western parts of the country. This means that the winds will just be light and variable and so the showers will be slow moving and prolonged in places, with a risk of spot flooding. Once again there'll be some thundery downpours, with these likely to be most widespread across the southern two thirds of the country, though all areas are at risk. Some hail showers are probable too. There'll be some sunshine in the mix too though. Highest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees in mostly light variable breezes."

Thursday: "There'll be further heavy showers, which will be prolonged in places at times with a risk of some thundery downpours. Some bright or sunny spells too . Highest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees in mostly light northeast or variable breezes, though winds will probably be mostly moderate along coastal parts of the west."
