Met Eireann Ireland weather forecast 'cyclonic' storm with 'airflow change' warned

Met Eireann has forecast a cyclonic airflow change in the country as other experts are warning that a storm is on the way very soon.

While the weather is very temperamental at the moment, it will take a turn on Thursday with an ominous airflow moving in until the weekend.

As well as this, some parts of the country will see winds fall in cyclonic variables throughout the day on Thursday.

Carlow Weather's Alan O'Reilly outlined the position of the potential storm on Thursday.

He said: "Not a lot of difference between models but enough to vary the impacts a lot. The higher resolution models will have a better idea Wednesday morning.

Here's what Met Eireann are predicting over the next few days:

Today: "Mostly dry with sunny spells this morning. Scattered showers will develop this afternoon, becoming heavy at times with the risk of hail and isolated thunderstorms. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in mostly light westerly breezes."

Tonight: "Becoming mostly dry early in the night with good clear spells developing. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 6 degrees with some mist patches developing in light southerly or variables breezes.'

Tomorrow: "Mist patches will clear to sunny spells early on Wednesday, it will remain mostly dry with just the risk of an isolated blustery shower. Highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees in mostly moderate westerly breezes."

Thursday: "Wet and windy with showery rain accompanied by fresh to strong and gusty southeasterly winds as gales develop along southern coasts. The showery rain will turn heavy and persistent at times. Some parts of the midlands and north may see the winds fall moderate cyclonic variable for a time later in the day. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees."

Friday: "It will be a cool, blustery day with scattered showers most frequent in the south and east where some will be heavy or possibly thundery at times. Coolest in the northwest with highest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees in moderate to fresh and gusty northwesterly winds."
