Met Eireann Ireland weather as 'snow warned' followed by huge temperature swing in big change

Met Eireann is warning of snow once again followed by a huge temperature swing as Ireland experiences some strange weather over the coming days.

The National Forecaster warns: "Widespread showers will continue for a time early on Friday night, some of them wintry, with hail, sleet and snow, and an ongoing risk of isolated thunderstorms."

And while the wintry weather will continue in dribs and drabs over the weekend, it will be met by a huge Celsius boost at the start of next week when temperatures skyrocket to 16C in the first real signs of summer.

Turning to Thursday, It will be mostly cloudy today with scattered showers bursting through as the day goes on with occasionally bright and sunny intervals and highs of 13C.

Tonight will see more rain spreading nationwide before clearing to make way for colder and clearer spells with lows of 3C before a dry start to Friday.

Here's how tomorrow looks according to Met Eireann:

Friday : "It will start out cold and clear with sunny spells. Blustery showers will spread from the west early in the afternoon, and some of them will be heavy with hail and a risk of isolated thunderstorms. Top Temperatures of 8 degrees but feeling colder with an added wind chill factor. Moderate to fresh southwest winds will increase fresh to strong and gusty westerly in the afternoon."

Friday night : "Widespread showers will continue for a time early on Friday night, some of them wintry, with hail, sleet and snow, and an ongoing risk of isolated thunderstorms. The showers will gradually become confined Atlantic coastal counties overnight. Westerly winds will be fresh to strong and gusty at first but they will ease down through the night. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 3 degrees, with a risk of frost in sheltered spots."
