Met Eireann Ireland forecasts dramatic change for St Stephen's Day weather

Christmas Day was miserably wet and windy but St Stephen's Day is set to be a whole lot more positive with bright spells set to take hold in the Capital.

The mist and drizzle is set to clear in the morning with bright periods becoming more frequent - perfect for St Stephen's Day bargain hunters.

The temperature will stick between 8 and ten degrees throughout the day while winds will be moderate.

Met Eireann's forecast for St Stephen's Day read: "Patches of mist and drizzle will tend to clear this morning. It will then be a day of some bright spells and scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees with light to moderate south to southwest winds."

The forecast for tonight reads: "Showers will tend to die out overnight and it will become largely dry with patches of mist and fog forming. A colder night than of late with lowest temperatures of 0 to 5 degrees with a touch of frost in places."

Monday is set to be "rather cloudy" but largely dry.

The Met Eireann Forecast reads: "Some patches of fog may be slow to clear on Monday and it will be a rather cloudy day. It will be dry apart from the odd passing shower. A chillier day with highest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees generally, in light to moderate easterly winds."
