Met Eireann forecasts 'wintry falls' and temperatures drop to -2C for Ireland with potential of snow

It's going to really start to look like winter this week as temperatures drop to as low as -2C with "wintry falls" promised for Dublin and the rest of the country.

Monday morning will be a cold and blustery day with a mix of scattered showers and sunny spells, reports Dublin Live.

Temperatures will reach as high as 7C but it will feel very chilly with fresh and westerly breezes.

Monday night will see lows of 2C but it will remain a mainly cold and dry night with just the odd isolated shower.

As the week goes on, outbreaks of rain and sleet will continue overnight across the country on Wednesday night.

Met Eireann says that there will be a "risk of some wintry falls on higher ground" with temperatures dropping to as low as -1C.

Come Friday, the temperatures will drop to -2C with sharp frost developing on Friday night.
