It's looking like May will be a month of many weathers as Met Eireann have forecast a freezing few days ahead.
The next couple of days are set to bring sunny spells, showers, gusty winds, fog, hail and frost, a far cry from the mostly pleasant conditions across the country in recent weeks.
The national forecaster is predicting temperatures to plummet to lows of -3 tonight and Thursday night, meaning frost is on the way.
Sunny spells and scattered showers of rain and hail, with a risk of isolated thunderstorms, were expected for Wednesday, along with highest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees.
However, the mercury could dip well below zero tonight as the showers die out from most places, leaving a mainly dry night with clear spells.
Met Eireann say the lowest temperatures will be between -3 and 2 degrees, with frost developing and a few isolated patches of mist or fog also possible.
Thursday will continue to be cool but "with plenty of sunshine".

Scattered showers of rain or hail could hit the north and northwest, extending southwards through the morning and early afternoon.
The showers won't be as widespread or numerous as seen today, with plenty of dry weather too particularly in southern and southwestern areas.
The daytime temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees will fall again overnight on Thursday, with "another very cold night" expected.
Frost will develop thanks to lows of -3 and +2 degrees, with some mist patches forming also.
Friday will be cool again, with some showers in the northeast, however many areas will be mainly dry with some sunny spells.
Cloud will increase from the southwest during the afternoon with rain developing over Munster during the evening.
Met Eireann say temperatures will range between 9 and 13 degrees, with Friday night set to be milder than previous days.
A band of persistent rain will extend from the southwest towards the northeastwards across the country on Friday night, with the rain becoming heavy at times especially along southern coasts.
Lowest temperatures will be between 3 and 7 degrees.
The weekend is looking like a wet and cloudy affair, with a few sunny spells breaking through at times.
On Saturday, rain will begin to clear northeastwards with showers following from the southwest.
It will remain mostly cloudy however there will be occasional sunny breaks.
Met Eireann predicts that fresh southeast winds will veer southwesterly as the rain clears and it will become milder with highest temperatures of 11 to 17 degrees.
Saturday night will bring a mix of clear spells and showers overnight with some turning heavy and thundery in the west.
It will be mild again with temperatures averaging 5 to 10 degrees.
As for Sunday, there will be some bright and sunny spells and temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees.
However, showers will become widespread and heavy with the risk of isolated thunderstorms, heaviest and most frequent in the northwest.
The outlook for next week is looking bleak so far, with low pressure remaining around Ireland for the early days of next week bringing widespread thundery showers and gradually cooler temperatures.
