Temperatures are due to remain above average for the time of year, particularly for the south of the country, however, some bitterly cold spells may be felt in the north.

Wind and rainfall could pose "potential hazards" and night-time frost will begin to set in.

From October 29, unsettled conditions with persist but temperatures still don't look likely to drop just yet.

Heavy rain will continue, but some drier conditions are predicted for the east and southeast.

The Irish forecast says; "Once again, wind and rainfall would be the most likely hazards with an increasing chance of night-time frosts."

Although forecasters can't be certain of condition in the first week of November just yet, their current indications show some potential improvement in conditions, with below average rainfall.

"There is no signal for a deviation in the temperatures from the average but given the time of year, night-time frosts could be a feature."
