Met Eireann Dublin weather: Three days of 15C temperatures before sub zero and wintry conditions hit Ireland

Met Eireann has forecast three days of 15C temperatures before a wintry sub zero snap hits the country.

Tuesday will start off dry with some sunny spells with the double temperatures coolest along the coast in moderate to fresh and gusty southerly winds.

Tonight will be dry with some patchy cloud with minimum temperatures generally around the 4 to 7C mark.

On Wednesday, it will be mainly dry with just a few showers of rain or drizzle possible at times with a good deal of dry weather promised for the coming week.

Those mid-double temperatures will last until Thursday before the celsius swings below zero.

Friday will be much cooler but still mostly dry with sunny spells.

A few scattered showers will occur mainly along the coasts with highs of 7 to 11C but overnight lows will drop between 0 and 4 degrees with frost.

Saturday will be generally clear with good sunny spells but there will be the occasional wintry shower.

It will be cold with highs of 6 to 9 degrees in a light to moderate northerly breeze before dropping to a low -1 with the risk of frost also in the night.

For Sunday and Monday, Met Eireann added: Cool, with sunny spells and scattered showers also, some possibly wintry. Frost overnight."
