Met Eireann add one more county to weather warning list as awful conditions lash Ireland today

Dublin has been added to the list of counties under weather warning this morning with heavy rain and high winds to hit.

Met Eireann's three weather warnings come into affect today at varying times.

The national forecaster is expecting a wet and windy day right across Ireland but 15 counties will have it that bit worse.

A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Becoming wet and windy today. Showers in the southwest at first. Persistent Rain in Ulster and Leinster will spread southwestwards to most areas by early afternoon and will continue for the rest of the day. It will be heavy at times with spot flooding in places.

"A few drier intervals will develop in the northeast later. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees with fresh to strong, gusty northwest winds and gales on some coasts."

The first of the weather warnings has already begun with three yellow alerts in total.
