Met appeal after woman, 83, dies following collision in Wood Green

Police are appealing for witnesses after an 83-year-old woman died in a collision in Wood Green.

Grigoria Yiannoullou, who was from the area, and a man in his 80s were involved in a collision with a car as they tried to cross Bury Road at a zebra crossing at around 11.15am on November 7.

They were both taken to hospital and Ms Yiannoullou died from her injuries on November 11, the Metropolitan Police has said.

The unnamed man was discharged following treatment.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and was interviewed under caution as part of an investigation into the incident. Police said she has not been arrested.

Detective Sergeant Rebecca Collens said: “This incident happened on a zebra crossing on Bury Road, close to the junction of Lymington Avenue in Wood Green.

“If you were in the area and witnessed the incident, or if you were a driver who may have captured events on dashcam footage, then please get in contact if you have yet to do so.”

Anyone with information can call 101, quoting CAD 2422/07Nov23.
