Mesut Ozil transfer decision made as Arsenal star's agent offers guarantee

Mesut Ozil will not leave Arsenal this summer and will stay at the Emirates for the rest of his contract.

The German playmaker has had an up-and-down first campaign under Unai Emery.

Having signed a £350,000-a-week deal under Arsene Wenger to remain in North London, Ozil looked likely to be heading out of the club when dropped by Emery earlier this season.

But Ozil has since been reintegrated into the side, and has recently been used in tandem with both Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

If a reasonable offer was incoming however, the suggestion remains that Emery and club chiefs would be inclined to part with the World Cup winner.

But both Ozil and now his representative, Dr Erkut Sogut, have stated he has no intention of departing.

Ozil recently told Sky Sports: "I have two years left on my contract. I don’t know about after that but yes, absolutely [I will stay]."

Now Sogut has reiterated those claims, declaring that Ozil “bleeds Arsenal red”.

Arsenal star 'looks like a ghost' as Unai Emery is urged to sell

"Rumours will always persist, - there is no doubt about that - but one thing I can guarantee is Mesut's loyalty," he told Turkish-Football.com.

"His mind is focused on Arsenal, and Arsenal only. Mesut bleeds Arsenal red, and respecting his contract is a certainty.

"He'll be staying at Arsenal until at least 2021, and the fans need not to worry about the gossip that may come this summer.

"He has found a place he feels welcome and believes he has a lot more to give.”

Ozil has made only 20 Premier League starts and four sub appearances this season, but has also been plagued with back and knee problems.
