Mesut Ozil’s incredible act of kindness revealed as Arsenal ace spends time with blind fan

As one of the Premier League's biggest names, Mesut Ozil is usually known for making an impact on the pitch.

However, the Arsenal playmaker warmed the hearts of supporters as he spent time with a blind fan before the first leg of Gunners' Europa League win over Napoli in midweek.

Prior to Thursday night's 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium, Ozil took some time to chat with youngster Mikey, who lost his eyesight to a disease, and posted a video of the encounter on social media.

"Happy to have had the chance to meet my special fan Mikey", said the German midfielder in a Twitter message posted alongside the clip on Friday.

"He lost his eyesight due to a rare eye disease but this certainly does not stop him from playing football.

"I know you'll continue to follow your dreams, young man."

The 30-year-old's tweet, which has been watched by over a million people on Twitter, was met with several positive replies, with many fans describing the exchange as 'amazing'.

One user responded: "Wonderful Mesut. What an amazing little boy," while another added, "don't care what anyone says about this guy he's pure class on and off the field."

A third added: "The was great Mesut. As a Spurs fan I can still totally respect moments like this. Well played!"

Ozil featured in the Arsenal starting line-up during Thursday's win over the Serie A side and played 67 minutes before being replaced by Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Unai Emery's men head into next week's away leg with a 2-0 aggregate lead thanks to a strike from Juventus-bound Aaron Ramsey and an own goal from Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.

Before then, the Gunners travel to Watford in the Premier League on Monday night looking to bounce back from last week's disappointing 1-0 away defeat against Everton .
