Mesut Ozil's agent reveals Arsenal transfer process as he confirms most likely scenario

Mesut Ozil's agent Erkut Sogut says there is a process in place as the Arsenal star edges closer to the exit in north London.

Ozil, who has been frozen out at Arsenal, has been strongly linked with a move to Fenerbahce this month.

And his agent Sogut has confirmed a move to Turkey is the most likely scenario this January, as soon as the two clubs meet to thrash out the finer details of a deal.

"Mesut Ozil can now meet with any club he wants, sign a contract," Sogut told beIN SPORTS.

"Whatever is best for Mesut. Mesut only lacks match fitness. There is no training lacking. Mesut is fit for now. Everyone knows that Mesut is from Fenerbahce.

"He announced it yesterday. Mesut is not just a football player. Mesut is Fenerbahce.

"He always said that if he came to Turkey, he would only play for Fenerbahce. I think it is very important that Mesut comes not only as a footballer but also as a lover of Fenerbahce.

"There is a process at the moment. We can't say it's over until we've signed it in the process. I hope so."

Ozil has been dropping continuous hints this month that he will be joining Fenerbahce in the January transfer window.

His latest saw him post a throwback picture on Instagram of him and Cristiano Ronaldo in action together at Real Madrid, in a win over Fenerbahce's bitter rivals Galatasaray.
