Mesut Ozil's agent Dr. Erkut Sogut has hit out at Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta for the way he has dealt with the situation with his client in recent months.
And he has also made reference to the twilight of Arteta's playing career at the Gunners and the sharp contrast it has with that of Ozil's seemingly inevitable final months at the club.
Ozil has not played for Arsenal since March, and has been left out of their Premier League and Europa League squads for this season.
Arteta, on the other hand, also barely featured for the Gunners in his last campaign at the Emirates but was still included in the squad and got an emotional send-off when he came on as a substitute on the last day of the season.

Speaking to ESPN, Sogut stated his belief that it is not fair how Arteta's final months at the club were much happier than Ozil's look set to be.
"He started zero games in the Premier League in his last season," said Sogut of Arteta.
"He wasn't there in the last six months at all, busy doing his coaching badges and meeting coaches for his future.
"Mesut plays for one English team and that's it because he feels he can only play for that team. He is a Gunner in the end.
"Mesut is not a player who is yesterday a Toffee and today a Gunner. Arteta didn't play at all in the final two years, but they still registered him because he was given a contract.
"Arsene Wenger put him on the field for the final two minutes of his last game just to give him a nice moment, even though he wasn't fit for months.

"Look at how [Arteta] was treated in his final two years, and how Mesut is getting treated in his final year."
Ozil is not able to play for Arsenal until February at the earliest, and it looks almost certain his time in north London will end in a highly anti-climactic manner, with his contract set to expire in June.
