Mesut Ozil pictured for first time since knife-wielding attempted carjack

Mesut Ozil was pictured for the first time on Friday since being targeted by carjackers.

The Arsenal star was driving his black Mercedes 4x4 in north London on Thursday when knife-wielding thugs on a moped attempted to steal his vehicle.

However, footage shows

The Premier League stars were "fine" following the incident and spoken to by police as they visited a restaurant in Golders Green.

Minders were deployed outside Ozil's house on Friday but the German emerged in the early afternoon where he was pictured getting into the back of a vehicle.

The 30-year-old was wearing a long beige hoody, blue jeans and black trainers.

An Arsenal spokesman said: "We have been in contact with both players and they are fine."

Kolasinac took to social media to provide an update.

He posted a picture of the pair on the US tour along with the caption: "Think we're fine".

Kolasinac and midfielder Ozil are not the first London-based footballers to be targeted on the road.

In 2016, then West Ham striker Andy Carroll was threatened at gunpoint on his way home from training.

Police, who had received reports of an attempted robbery, went to Platts Lane, in north-west London, on Thursday shortly before 5pm, according to Scotland Yard.

A spokesman said: "It was reported that suspects on motorbikes had attempted to rob a man who was driving a car.

"The driver, along with his passenger, managed to get away unharmed and travelled to a restaurant in Golders Green, where they were spoken to by officers."

The spokesman said there have been no arrests and officers are still investigating the incident.
