Mesut Ozil opens up on his Arsenal future ahead of summer transfer window

Mesut Ozil insists he wants to stay at Arsenal beyond this summer.

The £350,000-a-week midfielder has just two years left on his contract at the Emirates. He is understood to be among the players for whom Arsenal would listen to offers at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old however, remains insistent that he would prefer to stay even though his future is in the hands of the club.

He said: “Absolutely. I’ve got two more years on my contract. I don’t know after that but I’ve got two years left.

“I’ve got some years in front of me. It’s down to the club as well of course, not only in my hands. But I’ve got two years left and what happens after that I don’t know.”

Unai Emery accidentally reveals Arsenal's tactics for Valencia Europa League clash

Ozil, left out of some of Arsenal’s biggest games by new boss Unai Emery this season, claimed he remains with Emery and the Spaniards selection policy.

He added: ”No [issues with Emery]. Definitely not. There’s always speculation, everyone inside knew that our situation is positive.

“It’s frustrating [not playing]. I want to play in every game. Through injury I’ve missed games but that’s football.

“As a footballer you always want to start games. The coach makes decisions which means you may not start but you have to keep going.”
