Mesut Ozil launches COAT as Arsenal and Everton staff clash

Arsenal's miserable visit to Goodison Park on Sunday was summed up by Mesut Ozil launching his sub's jacket towards Everton staff.

The Gunners travelled to Merseyside in search of a win that would see them leapfrog rivals Tottenham into third place in the Premier League but went down 1-0 to the Blues.

Phil Jagielka bagged the only goal after just 10 minutes after replacing the injured Michael Keane ahead of kick-off, becoming this season's oldest goalscorer at 36 years and 233 days.

Arsenal , captained by Ozil, weren't at the races and failed to seriously trouble Toffees keeper Jordan Pickford, report The Mirror .

Seeking to shake things up, Unai Emery replaced Sead Kolasinac and Mohamed Elneny with Aaron Ramsey and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at half-time, and then later he took off Ozil and brought on Alex Iwobi.

None of the chances worked though, and Ozil was left cutting a frustrated figure on the bench as the game ticked towards a conclusion.

Not long after he was subbed, the German watched on as Emery and Everton boss Marco Silva became involved in a war of words on the touchline.

Bizarrely, Ozil then decided to throw his coat in the direction of the Portuguese manager, although it isn't clear if he was the intended target.

It didn't hit Silva, instead landing near a member of his coaching staff, but it was an odd move from Ozil, who continued to look thoroughly fed up throughout the rest of the game.

Arsenal loss leaves them in fourth place, a point behind Spurs, with both having played 32 games.
