Mesut Ozil breaks his silence after carjacking attack in north London

Mesut Ozil has broken his silence amid the carjacking attempt in north London on Thursday.

The attack shows the 30-year-old being targeted by two attackers as well as teammate Sead Kolasinac being a hero.

In a video that emerged online, the Arsenal defender can be seen jumping out of his teammate's vehicle to confront their pursuers as Ozil ran for safety in a nearby restaurant in Golders Green.

According to the Daily Mail, staff from local establishments responded to the incident to help drive away the attackers.

Ozil has kept a low profile ever since the attack but offered a few words to Sky News upon returning home this afternoon.

The Gunners no.10 responds to a question about his well being by saying: "We are good, me, Seo and my wife are all good, thank you."

Then when asked if it was a scary experience, Ozil says: "It was different, but it's OK now."

Earlier today, Kolasinac took to Twitter in the aftermath of the shocking event and posted: "Think we‘re fine."

Both players are extremely fortunate to escaped unscathed.

A witness of the event told the Mail, "Ozil looked absolutely terrified, as anybody would after being chased by men with knives.

"He looked like he was running for his life. And I suppose he was."

A spokesperson for Arsenal said: "We have been in contact with both players and they are fine."

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "It was reported that suspects on motorbikes had attempted to rob a man who was driving a car.

"The driver, along with his passenger, managed to get away unharmed and travelled to a restaurant in Golders Green, where they were spoken to by officers."
