Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City.
The England international has put pen-to-paper on a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge, and ends Chelsea's search for a new left-back this summer, with Frank Lampard desperate to add quality in that position.
The Blues were also linked with the likes of Ajax's Nicolas Tagliafico and Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon, but it is understood Chilwell was always Lampard's first choice target.
Speaking to the official club website after the deal was announced, Chilwell explained why he made the switch to west London.
"I am delighted to be joining Chelsea at this very exciting time for the club," he said.
"I’m looking forward to being a part of this young, dynamic squad led by Frank Lampard as we challenge for honours next season.
"I can’t wait to get started and hopefully it won’t be long before we’re playing in front of the Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge."
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia added: "We are very pleased to have completed our third addition to our exciting squad for the coming season.
"Ben brings plenty of top-level experience playing in the Premier League, Champions League and at international level, despite his young age.
"We are confident Ben will adapt very quickly to being a Chelsea player and with the fixture programme for 2020/21 especially busy, he is a fantastic addition to the squad needed to challenge for honours."
With the deal announced, the Blues will now turn their attention to other targets, with Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz thought to be another player close to sealing a move.
Thiago Silva is also set to undergo a medical at Stamford Bridge ahead of completing a free transfer, after the defender left Paris Saint-Germain.
And Chelsea supporters took to social media to voice their excitement at the impending deals in the pipeline.
One tweeted: "What a transfer window! Granovskaia & Lampard - take a bow."
Another wrote: "Got Thiago Silva, Havertz, Sarr and Messi still to come."
