Meryl Streep confuses Snapchat with sexting, an easy mistake to make

Millennials face a constant struggle to keep up with the rapid advancements in social media, so we can forgive Meryl Streep’s confusion over what sending a Snapchat message actually entails.

The Oscar-winning actress, who is also currently learning about what streaming means in our Netflix obsessed world, confused the app with sexting, a much more risqué practice - although the two often mix.

Speaking to PrideSource, Streep, 67, explained:“Somebody told me that I Snapchatted but I don't know how to Snapchat and I thought it was the thing that you do when you're sexting sort of and then you want it to be erased. I didn't know what they were talking about!”

Her confusion is understandable considering the naked pictures and explicit videos being sent across the social network, largely thanks to the lure of the self-destruct concept that (wrongly) makes nudes feel less risky.

Except, as some are learning the hard way, they often don’t.
