Merthyr Tydfil police arrest man making off from vehicle


South Wales Police at Merthyr Tydfil arrested a man at around 3am today (September 4) as he made off from his vehicle after committing alleged traffic offences.

A short pursuit on foot led to officers capturing the man who blew 89 in a roadside breath test when the legal limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

He failed to provide a sample and was driving on a provisional licence.

In addition, the man had no insurance and was driving a vehicle displaying cloned registration plates, police said.

The vehicle was seized and the driver locked up.
