A Merseyside Wetherspoons pub has won the "Loo of the Year" award.
The award, given out following inspections carried out at pubs up and down the country since 1987, ranks toilets on several categories and grants them a rating based on including cleanliness, décor, maintenance, and accessibility. The ratings range from silver all the way up to diamond.
The Nine Arches, which opened up in Newton-le-Willows in 2016, was subject to a recent inspection. The pub was granted a platinum plus grade.

"Staff at the pub ensure the toilets are in excellent condition at all times and it is great that this has been recognised by the inspectors."
