Merseyside sisters win £121,544 on BBC The Wall for dream New Zealand trip

BBC The Wall fans congratulated Scouse sisters Vicky and Julie on Saturday after they won £121,544 for a holiday to New Zealand.

Julie, a teacher at a university, was put in isolation while dance fitness instructor Vicky joined host Danny Dyer in front of the wall.

The sisters from Merseyside, who are six years apart and said they are "very close", said they wanted the money to go on a family holiday to New Zealand and surprise their uncle after Julie's successful recovery from bowel cancer.

They triumphed with a mixture of luck and correct questions, while being watched on by their husbands.

Joking "you're quite posh for Scousers", Danny quizzed the sisters on everything from what goes in fizzy drinks to soaps.

Asked which soaps older sis Julie watched, Vicky guessed correctly that it was Corrie and EastEnders .

Meanwhile Julie was questioned on which soap was set furthest north, out of EastEnders, Hollyoaks, Emmerdale, or Coronation Street.

Julie said: "Yorkshire's above Manchester surely. Just trying to think becaus eyou go up.. Emmerdale is in Yorkshire and Yorkshire is above Manchester."

She guessed correctly it was Emmerdale.

Fans of the show congratulated the sisters on their streak of luck, although some were split on Vicky's levels of enthusiasm.

Twitter user @saz1878 tweeted: "They won 121 grand!!!! Bloody Nora!!!! Go on girls!!!!"

And user @BethHodgkinson1 said: "Well done girls!! They deserved this!"
