Merseyside restaurant Kingsmen Street Food closes after less than a year

Prescot restaurant Kingsmen Street Food has closed its doors after less than a year in business.

The restaurant, which opened in September 2018, specialised in recipes from around the world and even served food out of a converted burger van.

Owners of Kingsmen took to Facebook to announce the closure after 11 months and said: “It is with great sadness that I announce the closure of our restaurant.

"The dream is over, now the nightmare begins.

“Despite efforts we just couldn’t attract footfall down the hill.

“Thanks to our followers for your support and we wish other local businesses our best wishes xxxx”.

Many customers have already taken Facebook to express their sadness with the news.

One woman said: “Really sad you're closed, I know the huge amount of effort you all put into the place. Good luck to all involved for the future xx”.

While another said: “So sad to hear this gutted for you Mick. Hope your ok. Did your best . You had a lovely place with lovely food . Wishing you all the best for your future plans xx”.

“I’m so sorry to hear this. Good luck in future endeavours, such a sad loss to Prescot xx” added another.

Kingsmen Street Food was one of several to open in Prescot last year, including Spanish-inspired Urban Chiringuito and Merseyside chef Gary Usher’s Pinion.
