Global travel site Big 7 Travel has released its annual list of the top 50 gastropubs in the UK and it includes one on Merseyside.
Gastropubs are essentially a hybrid of a pub, restaurant and bar, specialising in serving high-quality food to tickle the taste buds of all who dine there.
Now in its second year, Big 7's list is determined from a combined score of readers’ suggestions, online reviews and the Big 7 editorial team. It features everything from London boozers offering creative small plates to country inns boasting a Michelin Star.

The Pheasant in Hightown has made it onto the prestigious list at number 43. The gastropub describes itself as ‘a stylish pub for relaxed drinking and dining’ and offers a ‘memorable’ lunch, dinner or drink.
The Pheasant has an All Day menu which includes iconic pub food such as Freshly Battered Line-Caught Cod, Burgers and Steak & Chips, as well as dishes for those who are more daring, including King Prawn, Crab and Chorizo Linguine. There’s also Vegan, Children’s and Sunday menus, plus an impressive drinks menu featuring Cocktails, a Gin Bar and a wide selection of wines.
